Katia Saavedra played for the University of Tampa from 1990-1995. She was an all-american setter her junior and senior year. She has been coaching club volleyball for 20 years. She has coached camps and high school volleyball throughout the years and continues to have a love for the game not only as a coach but as a player. Katia has been playing beach volleyball for over 20 years. She grew up in Fort Myers where she started playing both indoor and beach volleyball, her love for the game has never faded, in fact it continues to grow. Katia and Fernando have 3 children ages 12, 11 and 7. They want to be able to inculcate the same love for volleyball in their children as they have experienced themselves. Katia hopes to be able to provide playing, learning an growing opportunities in volleyball to youth players both in beach and indoor as many coaches were able to do for her as a young player.
